About Sara
Testimonial: Estate planning is an important part of financial planning
"I was working with my financial planner and she told me that an important part of the process was to create an estate plan.
I thought this was silly--I had neither an estate nor an heir, but she stressed the importance of this document. I realized that I needed an estate plan for myself as well as for my aging parents.
A friend referred me to Sara, and she helped me work through the often confusing process of moving my assets into the Trust. She also worked patiently with my parents; without Sara's help, this process would have been overwhelming for them.
I've become an advocate--people are afraid to see an attorney, but the reality is that they will be saving themselves money and anguish by being proactive and creating an estate plan. Sara makes it easy."
Sara earned her law degree from U.C. Hastings College of the Law and her Ph.D. in Sociology from U.C. Berkeley. She formerly taught sociology and journalism and has also taught elder law at JFK University School of Law and UC Berkeley's School of Social Welfare.
Sara's years of experience teaching students at the college level have honed her ability to communicate complex concepts in a manner that is easy for audiences and clients to understand.
Something you probably don't know about Sara: Before she shifted to the field of law, she was an investigative journalist and well-known author who published four groundbreaking books about right-wing political movements.
Her Ph.D. dissertation, entitled "Right-Wing Movements in the United States, 1945-1992", served as the basis for her second book, Roads to Dominion. The Bancroft Library at U.C. Berkeley maintains the Sara Diamond Collection on the U.S. Right.
Sara speaks fluent Spanish and has lived in the Bay area for more than 30 years. She is an avid knitter and gardener and a long-time practitioner of Buddhism.
